In general, there is a minimum age requirement of 12 years old. Bookings with children between the ages of 8 and 12 years (between 4 and 6 years at Jack’s and San Camps, where the age policy is different: children may be 8 years or older) are allowed on condition that a private vehicle is available and booked for game viewing activities. Private vehicles for families are not normally charged for (* see exceptions below) and are subject to availability.
There is no age restriction on the following camps: Kulala Wilderness Camp, Kulala Desert Lodge, North Island, Rocktail Bay Lodge and Pafuri Camp.
When booking a camp for exclusive use, there is no age restriction.
*Exceptions:
1. At The River Club, due to vehicle constraints there is an additional charge of US$155 NETT per day for a private vehicle.
2. At Jack’s Camp there is an additional charge for private vehicles and guide of US$550 NETT per family per day.
3. At San Camp private vehicles are charged for in cases where the booking is for less than 6 beds.
4. In our Namibia camps it may be necessary to charge for private vehicles at NAD 3460 NETT per family per day. Bookings of 4 or more are normally at no extra charge whereas smaller family parties of between 2 and 3 could result in an additional charge being levied, depending on dates booked and occupancies. Please contact us for a quote.
Please note: These age restrictions are to ensure guest satisfaction. We often lose bookings due to this policy; however, we strongly believe that these age restrictions are important to our guests’ experience. We have found that younger children do not have the same attention span as adults and this can impact on other guests whilst out on activities. Please note this policy is strictly adhered to and please respect it.
Please note that by booking a private vehicle it cannot be automatically assumed that the booking will have exclusive use as, depending on occupancy and demand, the vehicle might be shared between two bookings with children in these age brackets. Should there be a charge levied for the vehicle, it will be split over all the guests in the vehicle. Should a family require sole use of the vehicle, this must be specified at the time of booking and will be charged accordingly and will be subject to availability.
